Testing Screeners/Diagnostics Used at Jefferson Elementary
Screeners- Given three times a year- Fall, Winter, and Spring- determines which students may be at risk
aReading/aMath- Comprehensive reading test 20-30 minutes in length, given three times per year
First grade only- EarlyReading and EarlyMath- one-two minute tests that look at the reading subskills, testing is done one on one with an adult, results are used to determine students who may be at risk for reading or math difficulty
CBMReading and CBMMath- tests are short tests designed to determine which students may be at risk for reading or math difficulty
Diagnostics- If a student is determined to be at risk, or would need an extension activity a diagnostic may be given. This list is not exhaustive of all of the diagnostics used.
PAST- Phonemic awareness assessment that determines if a student may be struggling with manipulating the sounds in words
LETRS phonics screener: Comprehensive screener that determines any letter sounds students are missing, looks at each phonics skill, and assesses vowel knowledge
FAST phonics screener- Assesses each phonic skill based on automaticity
LETRS Spelling assessment- assesses a student's ability to spell the different phonic patterns
Acadience reading diagnostic: A suite of tests used to diagnose comprehension, fluency, and oral language
Georgia Numeracy Tier 3 assessment: Used to diagnose specific math needs
