The following is some information to let you know what you and your child can expect in advance of their first day of school.
The Link Crew freshman orientation and transition program is designed to both welcome and support freshmen by assigning them upperclassmen as Link Leaders to mentor and assist during their first year. The following is some information to let you know what you and your child can expect in advance of their first day of school.
- Your student will receive a phone call on Monday August 8/21 (on their home phone number listed in Powerschool) from their Link Crew Leader personally inviting them to orientation day and giving the details of where to be and what time. If for some reason, they don’t receive that - please have them reach out to their school counselor.
- Your child is encouraged not to bring backpacks, purses, or other like items as the day is active.
- Because the day is active, please make sure that your child wears comfortable clothing that does not restrict movement and sneakers.
- This is a student only function so we encourage you to let your child attend on his or her own.
- Feel free to bring water.
- We will be having an ice cream social from 12:00-1:00. There will be dairy free options.
If your child is unable to attend orientation, they can get in touch with their Link Crew Leader (who will leave a message for them on their home answering machine on Monday) and ask any questions they may have. They can always contact their school counselor as well.
