Theater Arts Fundamentals 1 is considered the "introduction" class for theater. ALL students must take Fundamentals 1.
After taking Fundamentals 1, students can either take Fundamentals 2 & 3, or they can branch off and take Advanced Drama 1 & 2 or Theater Tech 1 & 2 (or a mixture of all three!)
Learn Theatre History
Learn fundamentals of acting
Learn cultures of theatre
Basic and beginning choreography
Improvisation skills
Pantomime activities
Develop performance and group collaboration skills
Learn basics of design and production
Students must have passed Fundamentals 1 AND have the theater teacher's recommendation.
Makes up the majority of the cast for GHSA One-Act Competition.
Students are more performance focused.
Participate in Readers’ Theatre, Children’s Shows, and Spring or Senior productions.
Students learn next level performing, monologue and script scoring, and movement.
Final Cumulative Project: Theatre for Social Change: Devised Theatre Original Performance Project
Students must have passed Fundamentals 1 AND have the theater teacher's recommendation.
This course focuses on set design and props.
Focus on technical and backstage theatre skills.
Learning to work lighting, sound, and tools.
Create and design stage effects.
Learn the history of technical theatre.
Build sets and stage parts.
Includes set design, costume design, lighting design, etc.
Class is responsible for building the sets for shows.
Anyone interested is welcome to attend
Hang out and play theatre games
Participate in fundraisers for the theatre program
Field trips to shows
Lifetime membership
Must be part of a minimum of 2 shows and complete 10 hours of theatre participation
Provides access to college auditions
Provides access to college scholarships

Opportunity to attend the Georgia Thespian Conference in Columbus, GA.
