A word to our women
To all the working women and mothers who have sacrificed their mind, body, and spirits to the work that they do in order to provide a better life for their children and families; to the daughters of single married mothers; to the daughters of women who work too hard: here’s an obvious and loud appreciation for them. Whether they are Black, White, Native American, Asian–the world revolves around them. These extraordinary working women don’t just work for themselves, they sacrifice their beings to protect their family with everything they have. These internal and external sacrifices must be celebrated. Books will never be enough to remember these amazing women.
Capstone Overview
For my capstone, I interviewed women and created a zine. The purpose of this zine is to help shed light on issues that modern-day women face in the workplace in order to increase awareness. I strongly hope that there will be more push for change when it comes to women working within the workplace especially if the environment is male-dominated. Some issues that women face in the workplace are sexism, racism, microaggression, stereotypes, maternity leave, pay discrimination, and sexual harassment. These stories are based on interviews with real women but details have been added or embellished in order to make the stories more engaging.

The Preservation of White Lilacs project is directed toward youth surrounding the topic of mental health.
The project has a poetry book by the same name covering topics children are often shut out of. Some examples are the prison industrial complex, CSA, abandonment, setting healthy boundaries, and other abuse. The Poetry collection is broken down into 7 chapters: Innocence, Energy, Friendship, Sorrow, Respect, Purity, and New Beginnings.

I wanted to do a project that focused on the endangerment of native species to Louisiana. To spread the awareness of the endangered species I wanted to start with the future generation that would one day lead out the protection and preservation for animals. I created a book called Dante & Ruby Save the Animals of Louisiana to showcase examples of angered animals in Louisiana. I used a third person perspective of the children and animals that are affected by man made pollution and methods. This book is to appeal to children but also give a message how negative affects causes the depletion in the ecosystem.
