All researchers who plan to use the Platform, regardless of their previous expertise, must get in touch with Platform staff to discuss experimental design, controls and biosafety.
New users must have an Agendo account (reservation system). Go to Agendo and click Register.
New users of LSR Fortessa X20 must be trained by the staff. It is not sufficient to be trained by your experienced lab peers. It is strictly prohibited to share your credentials with users who are not trained and hence do not have access to the FCP instruments.
Once all required training is complete you will be authorised to reserve the cytometer of interest.
Reservations are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis through Agendo.
The name on the appointment must match the identity of the researcher at the instrument.
Platform staff reserves the right to make changes in the schedule to accommodate as many users as possible on high-usage instrumentation. Users will be notified if any changes need to be made to an existing appointment.
If you want to use LSR Fortessa X20 analyzer:
All users regardless of their previous expertise in flow cytometry, must go through a training session (at least 2 hours) to be made aware of the platform's guidelines. This will instruct them on how to operate our instruments, cleaning protocols, data storage, instrument booking, charging policies and platform rules.
Prior to attending a training session new users must read background papers: Introduction to Flow Cytometry and Basics of Flow Cytometry
After the training session, users should be able to run the flow cytometer by themselves, although FCP staff is available to help at any stage through the acquisition protocol until they feel confident to do it on their own (please request assistance when making the reservation on Agendo and send an email to FCP staff)
If you want to use BD FACSAria Fusion cell sorter:
Cell sorter is exclusively operated by Platform’ staff. Before planning an experiment please contact us. We will help you planning the experiment and advice you regarding protocol and controls.
