Wayne Douglas Gretzky was born on January 26, 1961. When Wayne was two he was on the ice for his first time he skated without anyone helping him. Wayne's parents'names are Walter and Phyllis when Walter saw Wayne skate on the ice on his own he built an ice rink in his backyard so Wayne could skate in it. so every day Wayne would skate in it. When Wayne was six years old he tried out for hockey by the end of the season. He was seven years old at the awards ceremony every kid on his team got a trophy except for him when he got home he cried. but Walter told him to keep practicing so he did. At age ten Wayne scored 378 goals! It was a youth record Wayne tried out for the NHL Oilers at age eighteen and he made it. Two years later at age twenty Wayne scored fifty goals in thirty nine games another record. In 1984 Wayne led the Oilers to the first stanly cup. In 1988 he led the Oilers to the fourth stanly cup. The same year Wayne married Janet Jones and was traded to the Kings. By the time Wayne sadly retired in 1999 Wayne's kids names were Paulina ten, Ty eight, and Trever six Tristan was born in 2000 in 2002 Wayne coached Canada to olympic gold. In 2003 Emma was born in 2010 Wayne lit the olympic torch. Wayne is still alive and he is knowen for being the best hockey player in the world.
