The Theatre Department is dynamic and a welcoming place for students who want to learn more about theatre through one of the semester based theatre classes, by participating in one of the productions, or by joining one of the theatre clubs.
NHS has multiple opportunities for students to participate in the cast, crew, and pit orchestra. There are four productions each year:
FALL SAMD (Students Acting to Make a Difference) SHOW
WINTER MUSICAL
SPRING PLAY
SPRING SENIOR DIRECTED PRODUCTION
SAMD
Students Acting to Make a Difference is a student-led theater production company. SAMD produces a show each school year to raise funds for a local nonprofit. The primary goals of SAMD are to allow NHS students an opportunity to use their creative talents to fundraise and become involved with the work of a nonprofit in our community, and to provide an inclusive theatrical experience for interested NHS students to supplement the artistic experience available at the high school. Learn more about SAMD on their WEBSITE.
In addition to SAMD, NHS also has a COMEDY CLUB.
