Creating Assessments
Creating an Assessment from Item Bank
Go to Tracker
Click "Add Assessment"
Click "Create New"
Name the Assessment
Select “Item” as your source
Change Privacy to “Private to My School” or “Private to Me”
Click “Next”
Click the blue plus button on the left
Select “Add from Item Bank”
Click the filter icon
Under Item Bank, select “Mastery Item Bank”
Select Standard
Select English
Apply any other filters you want
Exit out of the filter
View the items to see what questions you want
Add the items to your assessment by clicking the grey plus button or the “Select” button in the preview.
When you’ve selected all the questions you want, click “Add Items” in the bottom right corner.
Adjust cut scores if you want by clicking on the colored lines “Scoring” in the top right of the window. You can leave it at the defaults. Only use whole numbers.
Save if you make adjustments
Click “Create Assessment”
Assigning an Assessment
From Tracker, hover on the standard and then click the Assess button
If there are multiple assessments for a standard, select one
Adjust expiration date if necessary
Turn on "Student Portal" (right hand side) OR copy the Test ID
Scroll down and add any desired Tools and Accommodations
Click Close
Students login to Clever and click on Mastery Connect
Depending on how the assessment was shared, there are two ways to start a test:
If student portal was turned on, students click "Start Assessment"
If provided a Test ID, students enter the Test ID code and click Next
Practice Tracker for Modeling Assessments
To model how to complete an assessment and use the accommodations and tools that you turned on, create a practice tracker with a practice student.
