The Notre Dame/Resurrection Band Program strives to impact and inspire young adults through music, leadership, and community. Our goal is to equip every student with the tools to be upstanding members of society and leaders of tomorrow. Through faith, scholarship, and service, we come together as individuals of differing backgrounds to form one cohesive ensemble.

MARCHING BAND

All students enrolled in Symphonic Band are automatically in marching band. The season begins at the end of July/first week of August when the band meets for band camp to learn our marching band drill and music. Drumline has their own week of camp prior to band camp to become familiar with the marching instruments and technique. During the school year, the marching band meets everyday from 7:15-7:55am. We also rehearse on Tuesdays from 6-8pm.

SYMPHONIC BAND

Once marching band season is over, we transition to indoor symphonic band season. The band continues to meet every day from 7:15-7:55am, and we change the Tuesday rehearsals to 4-6pm. The Symphonic Band performs at multiple concert band festivals and competitions throughout the Chicagoland area.

PEP BAND

During basketball season, the ND/Res Pep Band performs at Friday night varsity basketball games. We play a variety of stands tunes, dress in themes, and cheer to support our Basketball Dons.

JAZZ BAND

Jazz Band Is a separate curricular course that rehearses on Wednesdays from 4-5:30 at ND. We follow the traditional big-band instrumentation: trumpets, trombones, saxophones, piano, drumset, guitar, and bass. Prior jazz experience is preferred but not required. The Jazz Band performs at multiple jazz invitationals and festivals throughout the Chicagoland area. We also perform a joint concert with the University of Notre Dame Jazz Bands and the Reunion Jazz Orchestra every spring.

The ND/Res Band takes a trip every other year during spring or winter break! Previous trips include Walt Disney World, New York City, and Nashville.
