Position Title: S-O-S Project Lead

Working Hours: Full-time/ 37.5 hrs per week with weekly on-call responsibilities Supervised By: FJC Executive Director

Pay rate: $40,000/year - $45,000 based on experience

Status: Full-time/Salary

Frequency of pay: Bi-weekly

Length of project: One year (October 5, 2020 - September 30, 2021)

Description of the project: S-O-S of the Family Justice Center is the county’s 24-hour support and crisis line for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking providing telephone advocacy and hospital accompaniment at local emergency departments.

General Statement of Responsibility: Responsible for assisting with S-O-S related projects including volunteer recruitment, training, and retention, community engagement and education, and sharing 24/7 on-call responsibilities with the S-O-S Coordinator for telephone and hospital accompaniment crisis intervention and survivor advocacy.

Essential Functions: 1. Provides crisis intervention for clients experiencing domestic violence, sexual assault, and/or stalking. 2. Serves as a 24/7 point of contact for Answering Service, provides communication and information updates, provides back-up, on-call shift coverage, and initiates and takes lead on special projects. 3. Assists S-O-S Coordinator with planning continuing education for S-O-S advocates, community outreach and education, and volunteer recruitment, training, and retention. Required Qualifications: 1. Bachelor’s Degree in social work, criminal justice, or other related field. 2. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with the public and vulnerable populations 3. Excellent communication and organizational skills. 4. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and with a team. 5. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access and Excel. 6. Experience working with confidential information.

Preferred Qualifications: 1. Successful completion of S-O-S Advocate or comparable advocacy training. 2. Experience providing services to individuals experiencing domestic violence, sexual assault, and/or stalking.
