4-H Summer Fun Workshops: June - August, 2021 - A summer day camp program hosted by Pender County 4-H for youth ages 5-18. The mission of 4-H Summer Fun is to provide a safe, affordable, enriching environment where youth can learn and develop new skills and have fun while doing it! Students participate in field trips and other hands-on learning opportunities targeting agriculture, horticulture, leadership, citizenship, healthy living, and science, technology, engineering, & math (STEM). This is not a weekly summer daycare. These are 2-6 hour enrichment programs for youth.
Due to COVID-19, we will have limited in-person activities, with no transportation or food provided. However, we do plan to go back to our friends at Ecological Marine Adventures at Topsail Island for eight different sessions for youth to learn about the marsh, our oceans, sharks, squid, fish, and more! The dates will be June 15th, 17th, 29th, and July 1st, 13th, 15th, 27th, and 29th. Each day will be from 10am-1pm.
More activities may be added in the next few months. Keep an eye our for registration soon!
Millstone 4-H Camp: August 1-6, 2021 - Each summer, Pender County 4-H members have the opportunity to attend 4-H Camp at one of our state 4-H centers. In 2021, Pender County will send students to the Millstone 4-H Camp in Ellerbe, North Carolina. This all inclusive residential camp provides an opportunity for kids ages 8 to 14 to participate in canoeing, rock climbing, shooting sports, horseback riding, swimming, arts & crafts, challenge courses, campfires, STEM activities and more, for a week! The cost to attend is $450, but scholarship funds may be available. Contact Liz if your child is interested in attending and/or if you would like more information on scholarships. *Because of COVID-19 capacity restrictions, all camp spots for 2021 are already taken*
