Technology Enhanced Lesson Plan
Technology Enhanced Lesson Plan
In this technology enhanced lesson plan, Math I students will be working on a task that allows them to create and solve a system of equation within the context of a real-life problem. This lesson plan illustrates how technology can be used to teach mathematics.
The North Carolina Math 1 Teaching Standard addressed by this task is:
Creating Equations.
Create equations that describe numbers or relationships.
NC.M1.A-CED.3 Create systems of linear equations and inequalities to model situations in context.
The Common Core Mathematical Standards addressed by this task are:
CCSS.MATH.PRACTICE.MP1:
Make sense of problems and persevere in solving them.
CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.HSA.CED.A.2:
Create equations in two or more variables to represent relationships between quantities; graph equations on coordinate axes with labels and scales.
CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.HSA.REI.C.6:
Solve systems of linear equations exactly and approximately (e.g., with graphs), focusing on pairs of linear equations in two variables
Below, you will find my analysis of the task where I justify the choices I made when designing this lesson. You will be able to read why I believe this task promotes reasoning, as well as how the technological modifications support and enhance student learning
