In this unit, we learned how to talk in Spanish about our family, as well as expanded methods on how to describe a person. We can talk about our parents (padres), our siblings (hermanos), our grandparents (abuelos), etc. Adding that to our ability to talk about personality, hair, pets, interests, etc., we now have enough knowledge to discuss our family tree.
We have also learned several colors (handy when describing hair and pets.)
Additionally, we expanded our understand of of verbs with conjugations, finally learning the conjugation tables for -ar, -er, and -ir verbs.
This unit has been an informative one, especially with the verb structures. I have finally been able to comfortably understand the readings we have done, and my pronunciation is getting better (at least for the words we have seen before.) I now know how to describe my family, though I feel like it's not going to be an amazingly useful skill. Even describing a person doesn't happen that often. But what will definitely be used a lot is verbs. And now, we know how to use verbs in more situations. The -ar -er -ir endings I picked up quickly and they made sense because of my foundation in Latin, which has a similar, if not more complicated, conjugation structure. But I bet the irregulars are going to be a pain.
