This unit covered many aspects of describing yourself. We learned how to talk about our personalities, hobbies, and personal information (name, birthday). And to use this information, we learned how to greet others, how to speak to peers and seniors, and say goodbyes.
Hola! Me llamo Ethen. (Hello! My name is Ethen)
Yo tengo catorce años. (I am 14 years old.)
We also learned basic grammar, such noun-adjective agreement (Nosotros somos estudiantes de Wake STEM.), masculine-feminine words (bueno v.s. buena), pronouns, and infinitives. Now we can write 1-2 paragraphs about a few different topics.
Some other skills we were taught included classroom vocab, numbers, and basic operations of math. Additionally, we learned how to say the date and the month.
Uno más cuatro son cinco. (1+4=5)
Sieste por tres son veinteuno. (7x3=21)
This unit has been a basic introduction to Spanish. I can now introduce myself, as well as list a couple interests of mine. A basic conversation is now possible, but I can tell I am only at the beginning and there is a lot more to learn. But this unit will be the base of the rest.
I have been able to recognize some phrases when I hear others speak Spanish. It feels nice to be able to understand. ¿Cómo estás?, ¿Qué tal? and others I remember now.
A classmate and I wrote and performed a basic conversation.
