Every classroom will receive lessons from the Second Step Bullying Prevention Unit. In these lessons, students were told what bullying is, how to respond, and how to report to an adult they trust. Students were given materials to take home after each lesson to inform caregivers about these lessons. Teachers were also trained as to how to respond appropriately if they are aware of bullying or a student reports bullying to them. As a quick reminder we here at Lot Whitcomb define bullying as:
When someone keeps being mean to someone else on purpose ( i.e. It happens more than one time.)
The person itโs happening to hasnโt been able to get it to stop ( i.e.they tried using a quiet and/or talking Kelso wheel strategy but it hasnโt worked.)
It is unfair ( e.g. the person who is bullying has more power, how they are being mean is about something the person being bullied has no control over like their looks or abilities.)
It is one-sided ( i.e.The person who is being hurt is not also hurting and being mean back. That is likely considered fighting not bullying).

2. The other kids on your school bus always call you smelly and refuse to sit next to you. You try to ignore them and tell them to stop but they wonโt. Bullying or Not Bullying?
