Research supports the positive academic and social outcomes when a student is engaged in sports, volunteering, clubs, organizations, and work-related activities throughout primary, middle, and in particular during a student’s high school years.
A student who is consistently involved develops better organizational and time-management skills, which correlate to better academic performance. Also impacting academic performance is a student’s engagement with their school or organization. At Shaker High School, we have a variety of club offerings and encourage all students to get involved in a club that may interest them.

Coding Club meets every other Wednesday right after school in J110. We are a student-driven club where we explore the world of computer science and develop problem-solving skills. Whether you're completely new to coding or already writing your own programs, the club offers hands-on activities tailored to all experience levels.
Members collaborate on fun challenges—like creating games, designing websites, exploring AI—and gain experience with popular programming languages as well. The club also hosts guest speakers, and team competitions that encourage creativity, critical thinking, and innovation.
Fashion creation club is a creative space where students explore style, self-expression, and hands-on design through fun, collaborative projects. From candle making to embroidery and pouch decorating, the club encourages members to develop new skills while building a supportive community of makers. It’s a place to try new crafts, spark creativity, and connect with others who share a love for fashion and DIY. Our first club is on December 3rd, 2025, and our club will meet on Wednesdays.
German Club meets every Wednesday in J208 after school. The main focus of the club is celebrating German culture and holidays around the year, such as Oktoberfest, Martinstag (a lantern parade), Nikolaus and Fasching (German Mardi Gras). The Club also organizes several field trips a year, such as the annual trip to a German Christmas Market and local bowling and or mini golf events. The Club is open to all students interested in learning about German culture.
Math Club meets about 2 times each month in A205. We play math games, practice problems for math competitions, and volunteer at the middle school math club.Come join us to explore math topics and refine skills needed for AMC and more.
Meeting every other Thursday at 2:15, Russian Club educates and entertains through activities such as slideshows and games. The club welcomes all who wish to learn about Russian culture, traditions and history.
Shaker Include the Blue Club empowers students to take on leadership roles within the Shaker Unified Sports program. Members plan inclusive school-wide activities, support Unified teams, and promote a culture of belonging for students of all abilities. The club focuses on student-driven initiatives that strengthen connections and make Shaker a more welcoming community.
World Fusion club meets on the first two Thursdays of every month. Join us to discuss cultures from around the World and plan and make a meal to enjoy together. World Fusion club also participates in events such as the Multicultural Fest and Holidays Around the World.
