This course is required for all 9th grade students and meets once every four days for a half block. It's designed to build a strong foundation for success in high school and beyond, and offers personalized support so students can thrive in their new school environment. Key highlights include:
Navigating the School: Learning where to find essential resources, like the counseling center and hall offices.
Getting involved: Discovering clubs and activities to connect with peers and make the most of the high school experience.
Developing key skills: Mastering organizational skills, time management, and effective study and test-taking strategies.
Staying on track: Regular attendance and grade checking to stay up-to-date with academics.
Setting academic and personal goals: Working with teachers to set realistic goals and track progress.
This course is intended to provide freshmen with a consistent support system catered to each individual student and to give them a sense of pride and belonging in a new school environment.
