Easter Celebration
Similar to Christmas celebrations, German Easter celebrations have found their way into American culture. Just like families in Europe we celebrate with, eggs, bunnies and special Easter treats.
A special tradition is coloring eggs. What a fun way to celebrate!

German Food
Mrs. Scott's Go to Website
If you want to get inspired I would recommend this website. You have to get past the different cities first and the list of good places to eat but once you make it past that you find a great list of typical German dishes!
German Authors
Mrs. Antje Scott's recommendation is Cornelia Funke. NCA carries her books in our library. She is a brilliant German writer! Mrs. Scott says the NCA library has the Inkheart trilogy and Dragon rider, but she penned many more books including Thief Lord, Igraine the Brave, and Ghost knight. The Mirror world series is a particular favorite at my house since it features elements of Grimm's fairy tales.
Older students might like an interview with Cornelia Funke especially, if they have read any of her books.
Travel
If you want to learn more about a German city or region go to Rick Steve’s website, a local travel researcher and celebrity that really knows his trade.
