Lieutenant Commander Dempsey L. Barnes, USN(ret)
A native of East Orange, New Jersey. During a 30 year military career, he held the ranks E-1 through E-8, as well as an Officer O-1 through O4 (Navy Mustang). He served aboard 5 Aircraft Carriers & 1 Amphibious Assault Ship, he has traveled the world 5 times, visiting 47 countries.
He is a 9/11 Pentagon Survivor – he witnessed firsthand the terrorist attacks on the Pentagon on 11 September 2001. He volunteered his services to the American Red Cross Rescue Unit by helping retrieve casualties of war from the Pentagon due to the terrorist attacks on 11 September 2001. He was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal & Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal for his services rendered in aiding the rescue of personnel & retrieving casualties from the Pentagon. He assisted with the coordination & assistance with the relief efforts of Hurricane Katrina. He is an accomplished & results-driven professional with 25+ years of diverse Leadership, Mentorship, Business Administration, Human Resource Management & Program Analyst experience including: managing administrative offices, providing superior executive level support, optimizing operational efficiency, team leadership & training, customer service & collaborating with cross-functional teams. LCDR Barnes has a Bachelors Degree in Business' Management and he is regarded for his innate ability to provide inspiring leadership, deliver effective training, & ensure adherence to policies & procedures. He thrives in a people friendly environment & enjoys leading culturally diverse men & women. Enjoys teaching; coaching, providing leadership practices & seeing others succeed. He is an excellent motivator of individuals & teams & enjoys the challenge of bringing diverse teams together toward a common goal.
