Cadet Testimonials
"Being part of North Port NJROTC has changed the way I see leadership. At first, I thought leadership was just about rank or giving orders, but I quickly realized it’s about responsibility, trust, and setting the example for others. Through drills, competitions, and everyday teamwork, I’ve learned how important it is to stay disciplined and support the people around me. There were moments when things didn’t go as planned, but those experiences taught me how to adapt, stay calm under pressure, and keep moving forward. United Leadership, to me, means knowing that no one succeeds alone—we rely on each other, push each other to improve, and take pride in representing something bigger than ourselves. This program has helped me grow not only as a cadet, but as a person, and it’s something I carry with me in everything I do. "
"When I first joined North Port NJROTC, I wasn’t sure what kind of leader I could become, but over time, I realized leadership isn’t about being perfect—it’s about effort, consistency, and learning from mistakes. I’ve had to step up in situations where others depended on me, and that taught me how to communicate clearly and stay accountable for my actions. Being part of a team showed me that leadership is built on trust and respect, not just authority. United Leadership means pushing through challenges together, helping others improve, and never leaving anyone behind. Every practice, event, and competition has shaped my confidence and discipline, and it’s made me more prepared to handle responsibilities both inside and outside the unit. "
