Description/Purpose: We aim to spark interest as well as foster the development of science, technology, engineering and math as well as leadership through the design and creation of robots for competitions and other projects. We are an inclusive team that accepts all interested students and celebrates our differences. We emphasize teamwork, organization, perseverance, and collaboration.
Requirements for Participation: Active participation at least once a week in off season, daily participation during competition season (usually January through March)
Major Activities: Annual KidWind NJ Competition: State level engineering competition, based on designing and maximizing efficiency of small scale working models of wind turbines. Activities include a mini-impromptu “MacGyver” challenge usually based on wind or solar energy technology. Chance at Nationals. Access to VEX V5 robotic kits, computer programming software, circuitry, arduino kits and projects, breadboards, 3D design and drafting software, etc.
