CHANGES TO EXAM FORMATS FOR 2025 AP EXAMS
For a variety of reasons the College Board is transitioning to mostly online digital exams in lieu of the traditional paper exams. Exams will be offered in one of three formats.
Digital: Students will log into the College Board's bluebook on their school chromebook and complete the exam. The software will track the alloted time and save answers until students are ready to submit. Nauset successfully tested US History in digital format in 2024.
Hybrid: Some exams will be presented with both digital and paper components. The digital portion will present multiple choice questions and answers as well as the open response exam questions within the Bluebook software. Students will record their open response answers in the traditional paper format.
Paper: A few exams will still utilize both multiple choice and open response questions in exam booklets and students will record their answers in the traditional paper format.
Each exam has a different number of multiple choice questions and formats for open responses (FRQ, DBQ), and sometimes a portfolio. Please check the requirements on the College Board Website by clicking on the course and then the examÂ
