Accommodations

Students with a demonstrated need for accommodations, such as extended time, a keyboard, or a small group environment, must apply to, and be approved by, the College Board. Just because a student receives accommodations at Nauset does not mean those are automatically allowed by the College Board for AP Testing.

If a student feels they qualify for accommodations they should talk with their guidance counselor, who will arrange the application process through the school psychologist, Ms Citrone. citronea@nausetschools.org  It is helpful if that can be arranged in the fall.

Once a student is approved for a specific accommodation, that accommodation remains in effect until they graduate or there is a change in need.  Additionally, approved accommodations may be used for any College Board exam, such as the SAT.

Students with accommodations who are slated to sit for more than one exam on one day may opt to move one of those exams to the late testing schedule. Students are responsible for determining these scheduling issues and informing the AP Coordinator before November 15.

Students who qualify for accommodations will test in an alternative location with other students receiving the same accommodations.

Students will need to adhere to testing protocols for that room, such as extended time.
