Empowering Students of Color Through Critical Race Theory and Culturally Relevant Pedagogy in Educational Technology
Abstract: This article highlights the importance of addressing educational inequity in Adult Education classrooms and institutions and proposes the use of Critical Race Theory (CRT) and Culturally Relevant Pedagogy (CRP) to identify and address these issues, including within educational technology integration. The three propositions of CRP are discussed as a framework for creating inclusive and empowering learning experiences for all students. By incorporating these propositions into the development and implementation of educational technologies, educators can create more equitable and culturally responsive systems that prioritize the experiences and perspectives of Students of Color.Â
