Is Your Patient Ready to Detox?
A Naturopathic Framework for Safer, Staged Detoxification
Many patients arrive wanting a “detox”, but not all are truly ready. Pushing mobilisation in a depleted, inflamed or highly reactive system can worsen symptoms and erode trust. This practical 90-minute workshop explores how to assess detox readiness - not just toxic load - and how to design safer, staged detox plans in naturopathic practice.
We’ll review modern toxic burdens and the key organs and systems involved in detoxification, then introduce a simple Rebuild → Mobilise → Eliminate framework. You’ll learn how to identify patients who need foundational work first (minerals, gut, nervous system, drainage) versus those who can tolerate more active detox strategies. We’ll also cover herbal and nutritional options for rebuilding, mobilising and supporting elimination, along with red-flag situations where intensive detox is contraindicated. Case vignettes will help you translate the framework into real-world clinical decision-making.
