Good morning PACT families! Welcome to another glorious week of learning together as a PACT community. This is our last week of school in Quarter 1 and before fall break, and there's a lot going on. Here are a couple of highlights:
Our September Read-a-Thon fundraiser ends on Tuesday. This is one of the big fundraisers we do to make sure we have funds for workshop supplies and materials. Scroll down for details and to sign up. It's easy and fun and you still have time to log your reading for the month!
Quarter 2 workshop registration is open now and closes on Tuesday. If you'd like to register for a Quarter 2 Workshop, or if you'd like to add a select workshop with space, now is the time; click here to complete the request form. Registration will be open September 22-30. Check your child's Google Classroom to see all workshops in which they're enrolled.
Scroll down for more details on what's coming up; and don't forget to click through the links on this page for more resources and information.
I want to share with you that our Music Teacher, Mr. Beal, will be resigning from his position at the end of this week to focus on family needs. While we are certainly sad to see him go, we are deeply grateful for the energy, creativity, and love of music he has brought to our school community. From leading engaging workshops to filling our hallways with music, Mr. Beal has made a lasting impact on our students and staff.
Mr. Beal’s final classes will take place this week, and music workshops will conclude at that time. We are already in the process of posting the Music Teacher position on EdJoin and will be seeking a credentialed candidate to continue building on the strong foundation Mr. Beal has set. If you know someone who may be interested, please encourage them to apply. We thank Mr. Beal for sharing his talents with our students and wish him all the best as he takes this next step.
THANK YOU for choosing PACT Academy for your homeschooling journey. We hope to see you on campus this week!
Best,
Alicia Carter
Our school Read-A-Thon begins on Monday September 1, 2025 and is sure to be a fun and exciting event.
We understand that your time is valuable. We also know that providing the best education for your child is important. That's why we are encouraging everyone to activate their student's Read-A-Thon account as soon as possible. The instructions are straightforward, making it quick and hassle-free, and it should take less than 5 minutes of your time. the video to the right will walk you through the process of signing up.
This account will serve as a hub for recording and monitoring your child's progress as a Reader in the event, and for you to share their Read-A-Thon message with friends and family. Use the link to activate your student's Reader account.
Thank you so much for your participation and support. Together, we can make this Read-A-Thon an amazing experience for our young readers! Thank you!
This year we are raising funds for brooms in all kitchens (including the family lounge), necessities for the cooking class kitchen, workshop supplies, and organizational upgrades for the library. Any additional funds will go toward the field trip budget benefiting all families. Please consider helping us improve our PACT program while building our students' love for reading!

Natomas Charter School is in the process of implementing a new Raptor Visitor and volunteer sign-in system across all of our campuses. The roll out process will begin at PACT in the next few weeks! Once the system is in place, adults and students on campus will need to sign in at the Front Office. You will have the choice of signing in on the kiosk or scanning government-issued ID, such as a driver's license. Students will check in using their school-issued ID card. This system checks in all visitors to campus through a quick, secure process, provides real-time alerts for any potential safety concerns, and ensures we have accurate records of who is on campus. For more information, click here. If you have any questions, please reach out to our Student Services Director, Petra Luhrsen at pluhrsen@natomascharter.org.
What to Know about Raptor
Quick Check-In – Visitors can sign in by providing their first and last name and birthdate or scanning a government-issued ID.
Visitor Badges – All visitors will receive a printed badge to wear while on campus.
Accurate Records – Raptor keeps a secure log of all visitors to the campus in the event of an emergency.
Applies to Everyone – All parents, guardians, volunteers, contractors, and guests will sign in through Raptor each time they visit.
Student Safety First – This system is part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for every child.
Mark your calendars! On Sunday, November 30 at 7:00 PM, NCS PFAA & Star students will perform with the Sacramento Kings during the pregame, national anthem, and halftime show. Tickets go on sale Tuesday, October 1 — scan the QR code to purchase and support our students while helping to fundraise for school programs. Don’t miss this exciting night of talent and school spirit!
To support student health and safety, Natomas Charter School follows Board Policy 5141.21 regarding the administration of medication (including over-the-counter meds) during school hours. If your child requires medication at school, a completed Request to Administer Medication at School form—signed by both you and your child’s health care provider—is required for each medication. Please ask your Adviser or the Front Desk if you would like a form. Parents/guardians may also administer medication directly or authorize their child to self-administer when appropriate. Thank you for helping us maintain a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.
Do you know someone who might be interested in joining the PACT homeschooling community? We're enrolling for the 2025-2026 school year in grades TK-8.

If you have a club, sports organization, dance studio, theater group, yoga studio, church, community center, etc. with a place for posting notices, please consider sharing PACT with others by posing a flyer.
If you'd like additional materials (post cards, stickers, etc.) with PACT branding and application information, please let Ms. Allison or Mrs. Carter know and we'll get what you need.

Our early childhood parent club will meet to discuss how to support our youngest learners. Geared toward students in grades TK-K, we'll be discussing play-based learning, sharing homeschooling strategies, and generally supporting one another through this journey.
Scheduled for select Wednesdays 10:00-10:55, there are workshops available for your children during this time to give you some uniterrupted adult connection and support.
If you have questions, please email Jennifer Akin at jakin@natomascharter.org .
The vending machine in our Family Lounge is looking a little empty and we need donations! Sales from this machine raise money that helps purchase workshop supplies and other special materials and is stocked completely by donation. To purchase items for the vending machine, please use this document to select items which meet the dietary requirements for items sold on school campuses. We are excited to have some fun snack items available for students to purchase again!
Unfortunately, we live in a world where spam email and cyber security are part of life. Each of our email systems have tools in place to try to catch concerning items ahead of time. This also means important emails, such as ones from NCS might end up in your spam folder. To avoid this please add this email address (no_reply@natomascharter.org) to your contacts in your email program. You may also need to look in your spam folder periodically and tell your email program this email is not spam by clicking the associated button.
