What Do School Counselors Do
My Workshops
School counselors collaborate with students, parents, teachers, administrators, and local community agencies to support students with their goals, both academically and social emotionally. Our main focus is helping students succeed in their academics, which can mean also supporting students in identifying any social and emotional issue that may be prohibiting them from learning. There are limits to what school counselors can do. We are not therapists and do not provide on-going therapy. If on-going therapy is needed, counselors will work with parents and students to connect them with the right resources.
