Extra-Curricular Music 

Jazz Ensemble 

Jazz Ensemble is open to all performance music students. All instruments must audition in order to become a member of Jazz Ensemble. Jazz Ensemble instrumentation includes: alto sax, tenor sax, bari sax, trombone, trumpet, and rhythm section (piano, vibes, drum set, electric bass, electric guitar).  Students must be a member of band, chorus, or orchestra in order to perform in any jazz group.  Jazz Ensemble auditions will take place in November.  Jazz students will have sectionals (rotating instrumental sections each week) on Monday from 3:00-3:30 and full jazz rehearsal on Wednesday from 3:00-3:45. Jazz Lab 

Jazz Lab is open to all performance music students. Students must be a member of band, chorus, or orchestra in order to perform in any jazz group. Jazz Lab is open to ALL instruments and no audition is required for woodwinds or brass students.  Rhythm Section students (piano, drum set, electric bass, electric guitar) MUST audition.  Auditions will take place the first week of December.  Please contact Mr. Carroll for more information.

String Fusion 

String Fusion is open to all performance music students.  There is NO audition required to be involved in String Fusion, but they must already be involved in either band, orchestra, or choir. String Fusion will focus on fiddling, jazz, pop and improvisation techniques.  String Fusion will begin in November, and rehearsals will be on Wednesdays 3:00-3:45pm.  Please contact Mrs. Dwyer for more information.
