Day 4 & 5: Enrichments

MAKING A SELF DRIVING ELECTRIC CAR

On Day 4 and 5 students will have the opportunity to actually design an electrical car using STEM tools of Makey Makey, BirdBrain Robotics, Micro-Bit, or Lego Education WeDo or Spike tools. Students will have the choice to code, program and build electrical LED circuits to make their prototype car come to life and power it to drive through a student road course the students have designed.

  1. Make an electric car with Makey Makey, BirdBrain Robotics, Micro-Bits, or Lego Education WeDo or SPIKE tools to convert your prototype of your concept car into an actual self-driving electric car through coding, programming or a custom build.
  2. Design a road course where your new self-driving car can complete a replica street in your hometown community.
  3. Design a special accommodation of an accessibility needs feature or function within the car itself to aid and support a person with a physical impairment. This design feature needs to be ADA safety compliant, enable the person to have transportation access without assistance from others, and empower the person to live a quality independent lifestyle through these transportation safety features.
