YMCA Camp Carter
Overnight Outdoor Education Field Trip
YMCA Camp Carter
Overnight Outdoor Education Field Trip
When: March 12th-13th
Who: TeSA 5th Graders
Chaperones: Ms. Gunn, Mrs. Curry, Mrs. Nguyen, Mr. Moore, Nurse Bree, Mrs. Sapp, and Mr. Wadley
Lodging: Cabins
We are BEYOND excited for the opportunity to, once again, visit YMCA Camp Carter for a unique, overnight, Outdoor Education experience! Students engage with curriculum and lessons differently when presented in a direct and hands-on learning environment. We will shoot archery, go hiking, canoeing, and learn about a variety of wildlife.
We know one of the biggest questions right now is where the students will be sleeping and who will be staying with them. We will be staying in air-conditioned cabins located on the camp grounds. Each cabin can hold 24 people (12 on each side of the cabin). The boys will be chaperoned by Mr. Wadley and Mr. Moore and the girls will be chaperoned by either Ms. Gunn and Mrs. Sapp or Mrs. Curry and Nurse Bree. Each cabin will have two adult chaperones and no students will be staying in a cabin alone!
If your child takes medication outside of school hours and will need to be administered medicine by TeSA staff on our field trip, please email Ms. Gunn ASAP so that she can send home a medical form with your child.
