Who can take dual enrollment?
Seniors who meet academic requirements may take dual enrollment and some juniors with academic approval may take dual enrollment courses. Sophomores and freshmen may not take dual enrollment courses.
What does dual enrollment look like on a transcript?
Dual Enrollment classes go on a student's transcript as the name of the course with DE beside it to signify it as a college course. In addition, dual enrollment classes are now listed as a letter grade on the high school transcript.
What classes do most students take?
At RHS, Composition I & II (English courses) are by far the most common course for dual enrollment. Second to that is US Government/Economics. Other courses may be acceptable depending on student needs and graduation requirements.
Does one college class count for a full year of an RHS Class? For example, if I take Composition I as my English credit in the fall does this cover my full year of English at RHS?
No, if you choose to dual enroll you will take one course in the fall and one course in the spring in the same subject area. So in the case of English, students will take Composition I in the fall and Composition II in the Spring to meet the English IV requirement at RHS.
What colleges can I take courses with?
Most RHS students take courses through Columbia State Community College, however, some students have used MTSU, Belmont, Lipscomb, and Vanderbilt.

Yes, regular college tuition applies to dual enrollment courses. However, financial aid is available through the Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation Dual Enrollment Grant. It is the students' responsibility to apply for financial aid and pay for any remaining balances and textbook costs.
