Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year! We hope that you are as excited to be at Evansville Elementary School as we are to have your child attending. Our staff has a great year planned for your child.
Throughout the year we would love for you to be a part of our learning community. There will be different family nights, school events, and volunteer opportunities. In an effort to be a part of our school community and working within our school, please help us ensure the safety of all students and staff by following some simple rules found in this handbook.
Every school year brings new celebrations and challenges. I look forward to working with our talented staff, students, families, and our community members in order to make this school year a very successful one. I encourage you to engage in our school community, our parent group, and with your child’s day to day learning. We have many exciting family nights, school events, and community events occurring throughout the school year.
As parents, here are the top six things you can do to support and grow your child:
1. Help your child know the Discipline/Positive Behavior Model.
2. EACH DAY, PRAISE your child for the specific EFFORTS THEY MAKE.
3. Help your child by reading with and/ or to them every night. Make it a part of your daily or nightly routine
4. Look for the Wednesday Folders and learn about your student’s progress every week!
5. Make sure students are doing their homework.
6. Be in contact with your child’s teacher if you have questions or concerns.
Research has shown that parents who do these six things have students who graduate from high school. Give your students power for the rest of their lives by helping them be successful! Our teachers, staff, and I look forward to working with you and your child this upcoming school year!
Respectfully,
Stacy Moore
