This is the video I created based on my storyboard. I had lots of fun making this and it was awesome to explore a new skill, in design.
To begin, our adventure in filming began Tuesday Morning, 7 am, at Honols beach in Kailua Kona! We decided to go to this beach because it had beautiful palm trees; when you think of Hawaii everyone always thinks of palm trees and a nice beach! After shooting the transition we also shot the "call to action," bit of my advertisement. And at that, we were done at the beach!
Next, we filmed the intro and the salesman selling the cereal. This was done at my home and my brother acted as the salesman! We first shot the part where the main character/me is miserable and tired. This idea is used quite a bit, so it was pretty easy to act out. Then my brother came into the picture and did a great job in selling the cereal. Of course, he was dressed in an aloha shirt and had to wear a big hat to sell the idea.
Now, was the hard work of putting the whole video together. I used iMovie, which was a really good and simple website. I started by arranging all the videos in the order I wanted them. I cut them, added or took away color, and finally added the sound effects. I used Hawaiian ukulele music for the iMovie, which fit so well with the theme of the ad. I then added sound effects of waves crashing, rain, and rock music. All these sound effects made the video so good and brought the whole ad together.
Finally, I made some finishing touches. Making sure the video was at perfect length and making the transitions as smooth as possible. When I was happy with the ad I showed it to my family and changed any suggestion they had.
To end, this project was really fun and I want to thank my mom and brother for making this video possible!
