Flag Ambassadors Ambassadors
Selected students in 5th grade work together daily to raise and lower the school flag. This team also does the morning pledge of allegiance each day. This team also serve in leadership capacity to serve as visitors greeters and tour Guides,
Brief Solution Focused Individual Counseling
Student meets with the counselor one on one about a problem or concern.
Small Groups
Students with a similar concern will meet with the school counselor for 4-6 weeks. Parents and teachers are able to refer a student for selected small groups offered each semester
Classroom Counseling
Students in grades K - 5th will meet with the counselor weekly a topic related to socio-emotional learning, academic or career development,
Consultation
The counselor is available to consult with staff, parents and community organizations.
Parent Conference
The counselor is available to meet with parents regarding emotional or behavior concerns upon request.
504 Coordinator
The counselor serves as the 504 coordinator. Staff and parents can make a referral to the 504 coordinator for student concerns regarding a physical, academic or behavior need.
SEL Building Contact
The counselor serves as the building level contact for socio- emotional learning, character education and service learning.
School Based Mental Health Mental Health Contact
The school counselor serves as the building level contact for school based mental health. School Based mental health services are provided by contracted agencies with Guilford County Schools. Washington has a therapist assigned to our school that works with a limited number of students that have been referred for intensive counseling.
Attendance Team Member
The school counselor serves on the attendance team which seeks to support students that have multiple absences.
Student Support Team Member
The school counselor serves on the student support team. This team meets weekly to discuss student academic, attendance and behavior concerns.
