Digital Design I

Course Description:

1 semester for 7th/8th grade students

Students will develop art and technological skills needed to create visual images digitally and graphically. Students will learn to use DSLR cameras to take various styles of photography and apply composition strategies. Students will use the industry-preferred Adobe Creative Cloud software and apps to work with their photos and create digital art through Adobe Fresco & Photoshop. Students will be introduced to vector-graphics through layout design on Adobe Illustrator and will learn basic art concepts such as the Elements of Art, Color Theory and the Principles of Design. Students will compile an online portfolio of their work and have opportunities to show their work.
