A revolving list of ideas for when students have "artist's block."
If you’re looking for a fun way to fill a sketchbook page or practice your steady hand, check out these videos! They remind us that art is about the joy of creating, not just the final result. Grab a sharpie, a pencil, a piece of paper, and let’s get drawing!
Before you turn in a masterpiece, go through this checklist to ensure it's truly your best effort:
The Identity Check: Is your name and class period on the back (or bottom of the clay)?
The Craftsmanship Test: Are there any accidental pencil marks or smudges? Did I erase my "guide lines"?
The Elements Check: Did I use the elements/principles I planned to focus on? (e.g., "Is my Value dark enough in the shadows?")
The "Push" Factor: Did I settle for the first idea, or did I push myself to add a surprising detail?
The Clean-Up Karma: Is my station cleaner than I found it?
