An apprentice can progress through the gateway if:
Apprentice has met the knowledge, skills and behaviours (KSBs)
Employer and HCPC Approved Education Provider are satisfied the apprentice has consistently demonstrated they meet the KSBs of the occupational standard.
• Achieved all required modules from the relevant BSc (Hons) degree approved by HCPC and relevant PRSBs
• Achieved English and mathematics at Level 2
• Achieved all required modules, taking into account any recognition of prior learning (RPL),
• Practice Assessment Document/s (PAD) completed and signed
What does the End-Point Assessment (EPA) involve?
What are employer/WBM responsibilies?
As a minimum, the employer should: • support the apprentice to achieve the KSBs outlined in the occupational standard • determine when the apprentice is working at or above the level of occupational competence outlined in the occupational standard and has met all apprenticeship gateway requirements, taking account of the advice of the HCPC Approved Education
Preparation for the EPA will be monitored and discussed at the 12 weekly progress reviews. The apprentices will evidence achievement of KSBs in their Pebblepad Portfolio and Maytas recording system which you will have access to. The apprentices will redo their skills scan at the end of each level of study and should be aiming to score between 7-9 across their KSBs to be able to progress through to EPA (they do not have to be scoring 9 in all areas to be competent for their EPA).
Once the apprentices have progressed through the EPA progression board they will receive a pass/fail and then a classification for their BSc (Hons) degree. Dates of the progression boards will be confirmed by the course teams nearer the point of the EPA. Once the progression board ahs ratified the EPA, the apprentice can then apply for HCPC registration.
