You will participate in a range of practice experiences across levels 4, 5 and 6. These will be in a variety of locations and clinical specialities including simulation, leadership, clinical (inpatient, outpatient or community settings), education and research. Our practice experiences reflect the skills and knowledge required to practice and align to the four pillars of professional healthcare practice. The practice experiences are split into blocks within your course.
Here is a web resource about simulated practice experiences to provide more information. This was created by level 5 students on a recent leadership placement.
Practice experiences vary in location and duration. You may be expected to travel to different places to attend. Expenses can be claimed after you have been on placement. Holidays and time off are not permitted during practice experience blocks. These blocks are full time and hours cannot be altered for responsibilities outside of University e.g. childcare (unless a registered carer status), travel and transport, . Students are expected to behave professionally whilst out in practice please be aware of this prior to joining the course. You will be training towards a professional qualification and therefore expectations are high.
