Mandatory Training

Mandatory training is a professional requirement for students as stipulated by the university, placement providers, the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

You are required to complete all mandatory training requirements prior to placement block 1:

• Practical training: Manual handling & Basic Life Support

• Online modules: Equality and Diversity, Fire Awareness, Preventing Radicalisation, Information Governance, Infection Control.

Mandatory training will take place in semester two, you will be informed when your mandatory training will be taking place as this will be on your timetables for the practical training and information will be communicated to you regarding the online modules such as how to access them.

Please note that failure to complete your mandatory training will result in your placement being cancelled or delayed so you must attend and complete these competencies. Yearly updates are then required for some practical and online parts which you will be directed to when appropriate.
