Synopsis: Titanic is an action-packed romance movie that follows two lovers, Rose and Jack, during their journey on the ill-fated first voyage of the Titanic, which historically hit an iceberg and sunk in the North Atlantic on April 15, 1912. Transcript (from 0:23 to the end)
Rose: Mr. Andrews, I saw the iceberg. And I see it in your eyes. Please tell me the truth.
Mr. Andrews: The ship will sink.
Rose: You're certain?
Mr. Andrews: Yes. In an hour, or so, all of this will be at the bottom of the Atlantic.
Cal: What?
Mr. Andrews: Tell only who you must. I don't want to be responsible for a panic. And get to a boat, quickly. Don't wait. You remember what I told you about the boats?
Rose: Yes. I understand.

In groups or as a class discuss the following questions.
1. Have you ever warned someone about something before? If so, what was the warning and why did you warn them?
2. Has anyone ever warned you about something before? What was the warning?
3. In what situations in life do you think warnings could be important? Why?
Form pairs with a partner.
First, reenact the scene, with one student role playing as Mr. Andrews and the other student as Rose. If you need to watch the clip again to refresh your memories, you can do that. The role play doesn't have to follow the script exactly. It just needs recreate the scene as closely as can be from memory.
Next, one student should act as Rose and the other should act as someone Rose wants to warn after she speaks to Mr. Andrews. The student who acts as Rose should improvise and warn their partner in a way that they think is appropriate, keeping in mind the details Mr. Andrew stated in his warning and which ones they want to include in their own warning.
Finally, the partners should switch roles and do the role play of Rose warning someone else once more.
