Synopsis:
A young woman, Cinderella, is forced to work as a servant in her own household by her stepfamily, but still yearns for a happier life. One day, the prince of the kingdom throws a ball, and with the help of a fairy godmother, Cinderella is able to attend and captures the attention of the prince. However, she must leave by midnight and as she runs away, she leaves behind a glass slipper. In this scene, the stepmother (Lady Tremaine) is meeting with the Grand Duke after she found a glass slipper in Cinderella's room.
Grand Duke: May I ask where you got this from?
Lady Tremaine: From a ragged servant girl in my household.
Grand Duke: Mystery princess is a commoner.
Lady Tremaine: You could imagine when I discovered her subterfuge how horrified I was.
Grand Duke: You told no one else?
Lady Tremaine: Not even my own daughters. No one need ever know the truth.
Grand Duke: You'll spare the kingdom a great deal of embarrassment.
Lady Tremaine: And I should like to keep it that way.
Grand Duke: Are you threatening me?
Lady Tremaine: Yes.
Grand Duke: So what do you want?
Lady Tremaine: I should like to be a countess and I require advantageous marriages for my two daughters.
Grand Duke: Done. Now the girl.
Lady Tremaine: Oh do with her what you will. She's nothing to me.
(TV show is playing)
Mrs. Doubtfire: Alright everyone. Tt's time to expand your minds. It's homework time okay?
Lydia: Yeah but, after Dick Van Dyke.
Mrs. Doubtfire: No. Now.
Lydia: No. We always watch Dick Van Dyke.
Mrs. Doubtfire: Really? Well, not anymore. The only thing you'll be watching is deep sea nn. Now, I know you're used to loosey-goosey, but I run a much tighter ship. Between the hours of 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. I'm in charge. And when I'm in charge, you will follow a schedule. Those who do not follow the schedule will be punished.
Nattie: Punished?
Lydia: She's lying. She'd never punish us.
Mrs. Doubtfire: Don't fuss with me.
Lydia: This is exploitation. It's not fair.
Nattie: Shut up Lydi.
Chris: Yeah. You got us into this.
Mrs. Doubtfire: Oh my little ankle-biters. Do I sense dissension in the ranks? Are we ready for homework or shall we continue manual labor?
Chris: No. Anything but this.
Mrs. Doubtfire: Alright then. Upstairs my little nose miners. Go. Flee before me. Onward and upward. go pump some neurons, expand your craniums.
Synopsis:
A loving yet undisciplined father must find a way to spend time with his children after his wife files for a divorce and he is deemed incapable to care for their children. He comes up with a plan to dress up as a European nanny and after getting hired by his wife, learns how to be a better person and a better father.
