This is a BIP for a mock student. I created a game board with three goals for the student to achieve during each instructional period. As the student achieves each goal, they are able to move around the board.
If Joshua achieves 70%-80%, he would pick a prize from the prize box. If he achieves 80%-90%, he would be able to read Captain America during dismissal. If he achieves 90%-100%, Joshua would receive a positive phone call home and would be able to help a teacher outside by the buses during dismissal. Mock data is provided to track his progress and determine the next step.
During a course on classroom management, I completed a research paper on the various methods of communicating information with parents. This report contains ways to provide formal and informal information to families regarding classroom news, behavioral problems, academic progress, etc.
I researched gender bias in the classroom and ways that teachers can avoid gender bias in the classroom. This includes evaluating your personal ideals and values as well as being conscious of the language, instructional materials, and discipline plan used in the classroom. I focused on the importance of gender identity in middle school and how gender bias affects middle school students in particular.
My CBMP presentation would be shown to parents/guardians while they wait to meet for parent-teacher conferences. It outlines information about myself, the classroom policies and routines, positive and negative consequences, and the best way to contact me.
During an early childhood course on developmentally appropriate practices, I created a movie theater themed play center for a pre-k class at EduKids. This included the creation of a letter to the families to encourage participation, the building of the play center itself as well as a grand opening, and a final critique. The presentation highlights the objectives, vocabulary used by the students, and pictures of the grand opening.
