Photography is about learning to see. In this course, you will explore film and digital photography, darkroom processes, composition, visual storytelling & develop your own creative voice.
Photography 1 is an introduction to photography as both an art form and a creative process.
Students will learn to see the world through a photographer’s lens by developing skills in observation, composition, camera operation, digital workflow, editing, printing, and visual storytelling.
Through digital and darkroom experiences, students will explore how photographers use light, perspective, materials, and creative choices to communicate ideas.
Students will build a photography journal to document their process and develop a portfolio that demonstrates growth, experimentation, and personal expression.
This course emphasizes learning to see, making intentional choices, taking creative risks, and developing the habits of a working photographer.
