Murtaugh School Graduation Requirements
Students are expected to earn a total of 48 semester credits in order to complete graduation requirements.
Special Education students who have successfully completed their IEP leading to completion of high school will be awarded a diploma.
The core of instruction is thirty-one (thirty-two for class of 2028+) semester credits:
English - 8 credits
Math - 6 credits (Algebra 1 and Geometry components are required by state of Idaho)
Science - 6 credits (4 credits must be lab based sciences)
US History - 2 credits
US Government - 2 credits
Economics - 1 credit
Humanities - 2 credits
Health - 1 credit
Speech - 1 credit
Digital Literacy - 1 credit (required class of 2028+)
Financial Literacy - 1 credit
Senior Project/Future Readiness Project (class of 2028) - 1 credit
Electives - 16 credits
TOTAL = 48 Graduation Credits
Senior Project (Future Readiness Project)
A student shall complete a senior project that includes a research paper and oral presentation by the end of grade twelve.

ISAT Testing
Students will show participation in the Idaho Student Achievement Test (ISAT) as defined by the State Board of Education rules.
College Entrance Exam (optional)
A student can take one of the following college entrance or placement exams ACT or SAT. See counselor about Advanced Opportunities reimbursement.
