LCES PTO Updates

LCES PTO has SIX accepted nominations for 2024-2026 LCES PTO board member positions!

Voting will take place April 8th at our next PTO meeting: LCES playground at 5:30pm.

LCES PTO has formed two committees to help with:
- 1) Teacher Lounge Makeover: April 1-5th
- 2) Teacher Appreciation Week: May 6-10th
- If you would like to help with either one of these committees please email lyoncountyschoolspto@gmail.com

****Build-a-Lyon flyers.... over 150 littles will be building a lyon on April 18th!

Of those 150, over 40 donations were made from local families and businesses!

****LCES PTO has earned $1550 from this fundraiser.

In need of help: Thursday, April 18th. 3-5pm. Could you volunteer? We need parents, guardians, high schoolers, or even responsible middle school friends to help:).

We have 150 littles joining us for Build-A-Lion! So we are in need of help!

PTO is thinking if we can get 15+ volunteers including parents and HS help we will have about 10 kiddos with each volunteer. We will split up into age groups and also have the older students help the littles. Many PreK and Kinders signed up. We will have centers... start with stuffing the lion, then eat a snack, then read to the lion, and finally write the lion a note and color a bookmark. Should be a great time! Could you help? Do you know of someone that might love helping with this event?

****LCES PTO T-Shirt Design Competition....

Do you have a talented artist in the family? Any LCES student can submit a design that follows this year's theme... A Heart of a Lyon.

Designs are due Tuesday, April 9th.

***If you won a bid at the 2024 Experiene Auction and hae not heard from or scheduled the donation experience, please contact the donor again or PTO at lyoncountyschoolspto@gmail.com and we can help you.

***Talk with your kiddos about their behavior on our buses. Our children need to ride to school quietly and calmly. Bus drivers need to focus their attention on driving not redirecting student behavior. We as parents know how difficult it can be to drive with distractions in the carseats behind us; we as parents need to remind our children how to act on a bus to and from school.

***Talk with your child's teacher. Do they need any supplies for their classroom? April and May are months when classrooms supplies are low. Let us help our children learn the best they can by helping to provide the needed supplies.

LCES is hosting a BIG fundraiser. THE FUN RUN! Sign up your children and help raise money for LCES!
Donations accepted til April 7th. Incentives given. Last day to earn the incentives is April 7th.

Solar eclipse glasses, donated by Kuttawa KY tourism, will be used Monday, April 8th. Check an email from the district for more details about this exciting event!

Yearbook is looking for photos from the state tournament. Email those to Kathy.lefever@lyon.kyschools.us

Kindergarten registration is April 19th! Contact the main office for more details.
STEM teacher, Ms. T, is collecting water bottles for an upcoming STEM experiment.
