About this toolkit

Created by Sex Trafficking (ST) Prevention and Public Awareness Subcommittee, this toolkit is to create a unified understanding of what human trafficking is, how it has operated in past & present, and how to engage in effective, best practice prevention. We use the term Human Trafficking to encompass both sex trafficking and labor trafficking.

This toolkit is not a curriculum. It is intended to be utilized as a guide when developing or auditing practices around Human Trafficking prevention and to guide individuals from a variety of multidisciplinary approaches. This project draws upon established prevention models of primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention (comprehensive), as well as the socio-ecological model and the public health prevention model.
