Programme Overview
Morocco offers a powerful setting for place-based experiential learning where ancient traditions intersect with contemporary social change. Through cultural immersion, creative practice, and community engagement, students will explore how identity, heritage, and leadership shape Morocco’s evolving story.
The programme centres on Indigenous Amazigh heritage, artistic expression, and women’s leadership across both urban and rural contexts. Learning experiences include guided exploration of historic medinas and kasbahs, hands-on workshops in natural pigment painting, weaving, and henna, and meaningful exchanges with women-led cooperatives, feminist advocates, and artisans. Students will travel through diverse landscapes, from the High Atlas Mountains to southern valleys, examining how geography, culture, and community intersect. Through shared meals, creative practice, and guided reflection, students will consider themes of cultural preservation, economic empowerment, and social transformation. The programme is led by Mulgrave educators in partnership with Insight Global Education and aligns with the First Peoples Principles of Learning and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

IMPORTANT NOTE ON GEx FEES:
All GEx fees are non-refundable unless there is a government order or advisory that requires the cancelation of the programme due to health or safety concerns. A student may individually withdraw from a GEx programme due to personal circumstances, but please note Mulgrave School does not provide any refunds. Families must apply for a refund for medical or other reasons in accordance with the terms and conditions of cancellation of GEx Insurance 2026. Participants are responsible for additional costs which include/may include transportation to and from YVR, snacks, spending money, meals/snacks in transit at airports and other miscellaneous costs (as applicable).

GEx Vaccine and Medication Recommendations
Please consult your family doctor or preferred travel medicine clinic to ensure you are up-to-date on all recommended vaccines and medications for traveling on this GEx programme.
GEx Carbon Off-Setting Fee
A carbon off-setting fee of $30 is added to the total cost of all our GEx travel experiences. This additional fee per trip is allocated to specific non profit organizations within Canada or host countries, depending on needs and where your child is traveling. The recipients of the fees are locally based organizations working on carbon storage efforts such as reforestation, renewable energy and regenerative agricultural practices.
