G9–10 GEx Yukon 2026
Programme Dates & Length
June 2026
6 days
Programme Overview
The Yukon offers a powerful setting for place-based experiential learning grounded in land, history, and stewardship. Through immersive outdoor experiences, cultural engagement, and guided reflection, students will explore the relationship between land, Indigenous knowledge, and Canada’s shared history.
The programme centres on First Nations perspectives, environmental conservation, and the legacy of the Klondike Gold Rush. Learning experiences include engagement with Southern Tutchone and Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in cultural sites, hiking in Kluane National Park and Tombstone Territorial Park, wildlife observation, and exploration of historic Dawson City. Students will examine concepts such as land sovereignty, collaborative stewardship, climate change, and the lasting impact of colonization and resource extraction. The programme is led by Mulgrave educators in partnership with Insight Global Education and aligns with the First Peoples Principles of Learning and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
