Teacher and Principal Evaluation Systems and Certifications

Introduction

Teacher and principal evaluations (“Annual Professional Performance Review”; “APPR”) are an important tool to help support educator growth and development.

Operating Principles:

The district will:

  • continue to observe and evaluate teachers consistent with the negotiated and State approved APPR plan in all instructional models (onsite, hybrid, remote) pursuant to Education Law 3012-d.

  • continue to evaluate principals consistent with the negotiated and State approved APPR plan in all instructional models (onsite, hybrid, remote) pursuant to Education Law 3012-d.

  • ensure that all teachers and administrators hold a valid and appropriate certificate for their assignment.
