The Spring 2025 DC Trip will have a health research focus. If this is the right time for you to go on a DC Trip and your research isn't health-focused, let's talk. It might still make sense for you to join us! We are looking to meet a threshold of 10 researchers to commit to this trip.
Dr. Aimee Marceau, an HRI Research Scientist, will be on the May D.C. trip. Her current role is to provide sequencing services and support for researchers at MTU. She advises and performs experiments for professors and students using next generation sequencing, single cell sequencing, long read sequencing, RNA sequencing, qPCR, and ddPCR. If you are interested in using her research support or would like her to attend any of your program officer meetings, please contact her at ahmarcea@mtu.edu.
Federal agencies are adapting day-by-day to the executive branch's orders and memos. Those adaptations are trickling down to us as well. The RD office is tracking several sources to adapt our plans for this trip, for proposal development, and for faculty advice. Links to some helpful sources are below.
2025 Administration Transition Information & Resources (Council on Governmental Relations)
Executive Order Tracker (Akin)
NSF Implementation of Recent Executive Orders (NSF)
Tracking Federal Changes 2025 (Univ. of Michigan)
Tracking Federal Changes 2025 (NC State University)

We are continuing to plan the trip as best we can.
For the 2025 DC Trip, we requested all who are interested complete a short application. The application is a non-binding submission that helps us understand the distribution of the group's characteristics.
The application closed on February 26, 2025, 11:59 pm EST.
Filling out this form did not commit you to the trip. If you wish to receive more information about trip plans to make a decision, please contact rd-l@mtu.edu.
If you choose not to complete the application, we will assume that you are not interested and will not receive any additional information/reminders for the DC Trip.
If you are not interested in this trip, join the DC Trip Interest Group to stay aware of other DC Trip plans.
